Excited to make my first people for this quilt. Upon starting this project, I challenged myself to improve both drawing skills and figurative representation. People are difficult!! Especially when they strike unusual poses, like the ones in a rolling barrel of a funhouse. It’s important to notice the joints and angles of limbs – are they believable, would they really bend that way? I worked them out and have sized correctly for the stitched vortex. Freezer paper template cutting comes next. Here comes my tiny scissors and tweezers!
