113 – Big Blocks of Color

Big blocks of color are a fun change of pace from the tiny details I’ve been focusing on. As a painter might block in areas of color to get an idea of how well they work together, I pin folded fabric pieces onto my design wall to get an overall effect. Once they’re cut…well, I can’t uncut them! I only have small bits of some fabrics so I want to be reasonably certain they will be good choices. I have definite colors or textures in mind for some places, so that’s what I start with.
