Skirmish on Insecurity Hill

20 – Breathing Fire

I like the painted flames. Textile paint applies nicely to Evolon, a non-woven (and thus, non-fraying) material. I can cut all kinds of detailed, curving shapes into this material and stitch it onto the painted dragon piece. Maybe paint words onto the flames, – the negative thoughts that a demon of insecurity would breathe out with it’s searing flames.

I painted one flame, photographed it and used Photoshop to distort and multiply the flames to see what it would look like before painting any more. It’s too much, too heavy handed. I don’t like it.
