35 – Facing invisible barriers
What do you do when you come up to a barrier? Do you shirk away from things that scare you, or do you meet them head on?
I’m deciding that I want to face some weaknesses in my art. Journaling and self-critiques have led me to the areas that I’m not satisfied with. I’ve had problems with getting perspective correct. My figurative work needs improving. My work is often overshadowed by much larger pieces.
Instead of avoiding difficulties, I’m going to charge right at them. I vow to tackle complicated perspective, lots of people, and size. My composition must have an interesting flow and involve the viewer.
Not too much to ask, right?
