Fireworks Tonight 🌟

Materials:
Commercially available cotton fabrics, tulle, lace, metallic threads, beads, fusible web, thread, batting

Techniques:
Pieced, fused raw edge applique, machine and hand stitching

Knots & Tangles

Everything went smoothly on this until I got to the border. I hadn’t learned how to make a good corner and it shows on this quilt.

This was a response to a quilt store “challenge” – represent summer with a few fabrics from the store and in a specific size. The colors and eyelet trim reminded me of childhood summer clothes. At the beach, I was always fascinated by the low-flying planes towing advertisement signs, and fireworks notifications were the most exciting.

Some fabrics just say summer!
