Materials:
Cotton, batting, fusible web, acrylic ink, Evolon non-woven material
Techniques:
Stitched fabric collage with knife-edge uneven border
Knots & Tangles
Creating the bottom edge was a challenge. I sandwiched a painted strip of Evalon between a traditional knife-edge binding. The non-woven material took the ink well and allowed a detailed edge to be cut into it.

Paint Usage?
On the bottom irregular edge, there is some textile paint that matches the fabric along that edge.

Reliance on Reference Photos?
I looked at a few Redwood pictures to make sure the fabric colors were correct.
