India quilt

1 – 6 months and counting

I’ve begun my next quilt, and as a departure from my usual method, I am making it specifically for an exhibit at The New England Quilt Museum in Lowell Massachusetts.
“Explorations: Journeys in Creativity, The Quilt Artist’s Studio”
The concept is to bring the viewer into the quilt artist’s studio to give them a feel for the creative process as expressed in art quilts. Twenty-four artists were chosen for two exhibits at the Museum, each selected to highlight a signature technique.
We have six months to create a piece measuring 30” x 50,” along with display materials to detail and demonstrate the creative process.
And of course, being on an extremely tight time frame, I’ve come up with a very ambitious plan! I will be highlighting photoshop composition and fabric collage. Here’s my starting place, a photo from my recent trip to India.
