Sewing through all types of novel materials was a new experience. Maybe I’ll admit to breaking a few needles.
I was taking a workshop taught by Ruth B. McDowell, so the predominant construction methods are curved and intricate piecing after her style of quilt making. Upon completion of this quilt, I was convinced that I was not a fan of this type of construction method!
The requirement for a curved piecing workshop was to bring in a full sized line drawing of a subject that could be made using this technique. I had not come up with a drawing, so I was relieved that a marionette hanging in my studio came to my rescue on the night before the class.
