(collaborative project – my section is the top painted hand)
Materials:
Cotton, fusible web, batting, acrylic paint, yarn, wooden stick
Techniques:
Fused raw edge appliqué, pieced, painted, machine and hand stitched
This was my first attempt at painting on fabric. I had to make several attempts before I could get a predictable response from the materials I was working with.
A member of my critique group suggested that we divide a photo into twelve sections and have individuals work on each section independently. The size was specified, although any style or technique could be used. A color copy was given to each person to keep the palette in relative harmony.
