Liking a fabric too much can be a problem: once it’s cut, there’s no turning back. A paralyzing fear can inhibit freedom. Once I noticed the suggestion of motion in the background fabric, I scissored into the fabric and everything else moved along well.
Desire to experiment. I hadn’t yet done much fabric collage, so I was eager to try out ways to play with materials, notions and threads.
