Attleboro, MA – Since 2002 the Attleboro Arts Museum has presented a late summer 8 Visionsgroup exhibition
featuring the work of eight juried member artists.
The exhibiting artist review process for this year’s 8 Visions began during the museum’s Members’ Exhibition in
December of 2021. Over50artists applied to be considered for this premiere exhibition opportunity. Members’
Exhibition juror LaiSun Keane, owner of LaiSun Keane Gallery of Boston, carefully reviewed the work of these
artists and the field was narrowed down to twenty.
Two new jurors, Sarah Johnson, Executive Director of Cahoon Museum of American Art in Cotuit, MA and Erik
Grau, artist and President of the Piano Craft Gallery in Boston, were invited to continue the process and combed
through the twenty portfolios.
In the end, a talented team of eight was selected. Working in a broad range of disciplines and concepts, the
20228 Visions artists will exhibit their work in an exhibition from July 29th – August 26th.
Mim Brooks Fawcett, Executive Director and Chief Curator states, “The museum’s annual 8 Visions exhibition
always proves to be a show of provocative and technically sharp artwork. 2022’s class of artists achieve that
standard with well-executed collections touching on societal restrictions, pandemic confinement, individuals
engulfed in turmoil, and sensitivity to surroundings and memories.” She continues, “By using visual art as their
voice, the artists share their ideas, observations and beliefs with audiences.”
An opening reception will be held on Saturday, July 30th, 2pm – 4pm. RSVP by July 29th: 508-222-2644 x10 or
office@attleboroartsmuseum.org. The eight exhibiting artists will be at the reception with
live music. The reception is free and open to all.
